Toyo Seat Corporation
Headquartered in Japan, Toyo Seat found a dedicated workforce in Grundy County—employees who could meet the strict safety standards that big names in the automotive industry require. Toyo Seat fabricates metal seat frames and latches for Nissan, Toyota, Honda and Ford. In Grundy County for more than a decade, Toyo designs 80 percent of the products that it manufactures for car companies.
Benchmark Tool & Machine Inc.
A manufacturer of transportation racks for automotive parts, Benchmark located to Grundy County for access to nearby cities. With interest and support from the State of Tennessee, the county provided financial incentives and facility upgrades to help Benchmark attract clients like Nissan, Toyota and several boat manufacturers. Processing 50,000 tons of metal daily, Benchmark has grown from five employees to 125 and added another 20,000-square-feet of manufacturing space because of location and county assistance.
Silver Bait, LLC
A native of France, Silver Bait, LLC’s owner is an entrepreneur with a genius for innovation. Featured in Financial Times and other national media outlets, Silver Bait, LLC is a completely vertical operation that produces bait worms and agricultural castings, grows its own feed, builds its own buildings, manufactures its plastic containers and transports both its own and other companies’ products with its trucking fleet. The owner was attracted by land cost and tax structure and has expanded the business many times.
